The International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA®) is the professional association dedicated to developing and maintaining standards for the practice of business analysis and for the certification of practitioners.
In September 2008, IIBA® released the highest recognition that can be given to a Business Analyst, the Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP®). Just like other widely well recognized certifications such as the PMP®, the CBAP® is a non-vendor specific certification. Its purpose is to recognize competent professionals in the world of Business Analysis. Although it is relatively new in the market, this certification has gained momentum by being offered across the globe through multiple testing centers. In January 2011, IIBA® released the Certification of Competency in Business Analysis (CCBA™) as the junior certification.
Both exams are based on the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge® (BABOK®), which is published by IIBA®. Many fortune 500 companies are already looking to hire recipients of the CBAP®. This is a great time to get certified and gain a competitive edge in your career.
